We have compiled a list of some top tips to help students when living on your own for the first time.
Cooking - Keeping it simple!
You may already be a MasterChef, or a complete beginner, but we our advice is to get yourself a good cookbook that focuses on quick, simple food.
A good tip is when you cook do it in bulk, and bang them in the freezer! not only will this make sure you have food available, it will save on those important pennies. Takeaways can add up and will chew through your budgets before you know it!
Keep it neat and tidy
So this may seem really obvious, but a tidying up after yourself will keep the house nice and tidy. Preventing unnecessary build-up of day to day mess. know one likes to live in a messy house.
An idea may be to create a cleaning rota with your house mates, everyone has a clear idea on what their weekly cleaning duties are.
Another thing worth noting, should you see any damage to the house do not hesitate to contact us to report any defects or problems. Maintenance is much easier to keep on top of as and when its required. Contact the landlord either by phone, email or use the contact form on the website.
Smart shopping!
Buy your food and household items from value supermarkets and discount stores. Keep the house stocked up. Supermarkets close by include, Tesco extra, Tesco Express, Spar, Sainsbury's and Iceland to name a few. All of these shops will provide the home essentials, such like kitchen and bathroom products along with other amenities.
These top money saving tips mean you have more cash to spend at the student union!
We would advise that you try and do weekly shops, you will be surprised at how expensive daily shopping can be!
Create your own space
Most importantly create your own space! You may be sharing the house with up to 4 other students make sure you make time for yourself.
Make a house your home! Use pictures, books pillows or anything else you think will bring luxury and comfort giving the sense of home. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable and safe at Eleven Robin Mews, should you have any problems, concerns or questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.

When the Student load arrives, don’t be tempted to go on a spending spree!, no matter how tempting this may be!
Budget, plan and save. Set out your outgoings and incomings for the month and generate a monthly spend planner. It’s good to note when your bills are going to be due so you can be sure payment won’t be a problem.
